Amer Shoib has been a huge fan of cinema from childhood and has always been a huge Amitabh Bachchan fan. The trailers of Kunal Kohli's Teri Meri Kahaani made us all think that the film was a reincarnation drama. Seeing the three different looks of the lead pair Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra over three different eras, there were speculations that the film might have the lead pair reborn again and again. However, "Teri Meri Kahani is not a reincarnation film. It's a love story of three different pairs spread over three generations". Can Kunal Kohli strike gold with this hatke love story?

Can we truly luv one person throughout our life and hope that fate makes us meet with the same person in every life of ours? 

The story of the film takes us through a journey of eternal love between a couple who have vowed to love each other not only in this life but in every life to follow. Their love is so strong that destiny wants to bring them together. The story starts in 1969 Bombay with Govind and Ruksar, then moves ahead to present times, 2012 England with Radha and Krish and then goes back in time to Punjab, 1910 with Aradhana and Javed.

Can Javed and Aradhana still be together? Will Ruksar realize that Govind’s feelings for her were genuine? Will Krish be able to clear the misunderstandings?

Will true love prevail? Or will destiny takes it’s course?   

The music of the film is composed by Sajid – Wajid. Mukhtasar, has a fantastic tempo and rhythm matched with good lyrics. Allah Jaane, is a sweet track, The brightest song is, Humse Pyaar Kar Le., while other tracks like Jabse Mere DIl ko, and That’s I Really Wanna do are good but fail to make any impression. Teri Meri Kahaani's music is youthful and  Sajid- Wajid deliver another hit sound track. Timelines, boundaries seems to be a favourite recipe for Bollywood success in these few years. So why not even this one. Once again we have yet another romantic movie with power packed music to back it up. 

Kunal Kohli gives us a lovely youthful film , that is indeed very different from what we have seen in the past. The influence of Yash Chopra is plain to see. He has made a film that will appeal to all romantics out there. 

Performance wise as the film is set in three different time periods Shahid is playing three different roles in the film across eras and that is something that he has never done before. He is playing a strong Muslim character Javed which is a first for him. Then he has never enacted a cool trendy character from the current era in a manner as shown in the film, Also he enacts a retro character, getting into a 60s mode is not something that many actors of today's generation can boast of. All of this brings uniqueness to the film because whenever Shahid has done something different. He stands out in all three roles he has enacted, but the poetry speaking Javed stands out. Priyanka Chopra is not stretched as an actress in the three roles she plays in the film , but her chemistry is sizzling with Shahid.

A lovely romantic comedy that spans one hundred years and does really make you believe that true love can prevail. All you romantics are going to love it.

MAUSAM Stolen Moments of Romance

"Mausam"... When I heard the title of Pankaj Kapoor's maiden film, it brought back memories of Mhd. Rafi's "Aaj mausam bada beimaan hai" and therefore images of traditional romantic movies...

Mausam is a love story spanning the four seasons of its hero and heroine's lives: Harry, a Hindu Punjabi boy, and Aayat, a Muslim Kashmiri girl. The first season is that of their encounter as teenagers in a small village of Punjab. As the two fall in love and the audience watches them grow their lives enter season two. The drama and pain of separation makes their love grow deeper as they mature in season three and finally season four sees both lovers come together.

At a time when most male star actors are working on appearing as young as possible and oozing their sex appeal, 6-pack abs, and stunts in action films, Mausam brings back the innocence of youthful romance with Shahid Kapoor who has stepped from being promising to stunningly talented, whether he is conveying naughtiness, reservation or the pain of a lost love.

The film has tender romantic moments such as a boyfriend requesting a phone kiss to his shy girlfriend or a beautiful scene in which the two protagonists exchange silence and written love notes that the girl systematically dips into water, almost as if the fact that ink disappears was irrelevant due to her ability to keep her lover's words deep in her heart. Both Harry and Aayat also have dialogues in which none of them moves their lips, as if they only needed to look at each other to know what the other is thinking. The symbolism and cinematography of Mausam are two clap-worthy elements that make it endearing, despite the criticism that has been made to some of the film's shortcomings.

Script-wise, the first season of the film is splendid, with tight and rhythmic dialogues and good humour, lasting approximately an hour. The subsequent second season also has stolen moments of romantic beauty but the narration seems to be reaching several limits through the lack of transitional moments that would weave the story better and will affect the narrative as a whole in its second part.

While Sonam Kapoor always looks magnificently fresh as a flower in a young girl role, she somehow lacks the scope and depth to portray a more mature woman while her cavalier, Shahid Kapoor, breezes through all seasons with just the right tone, not bothering with his looks and still looking seductive showing off his talent in a way never seen before.

Mausam could have become a classic had it had a bit more restraint in certain areas and developed others (main and side characters and events). Oh if only Pankaj Kapoor could rewrite the last third of the script just before the climax scene and refilm or edit it with a little more tightness, a full little gem would appear on screen.

The film also counts pleasant music composed by Pritam Chakraborty but one regrets that Shreya Ghoshal's beautiful and highly effective rendition of Jaidev's  "Abhi na Jao Chod Kar" is not included in the soundtrack.

Milenge Milenge Songs Download [MP3] [2010]

This Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor film was supposed to hit the big screen way back in December 2005, but got delayed due to financial reasons and due to differences between the film's leading pair. But, the huge success of Jab We Met forced the producers of the film to rethink about their decision.
The film is now slated to be released on July 9, 2010.

INDIAN FILM FESTIVAL OF LOS ANGELES

The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) is coming up with a wide selection of films, ranging from drama and documentaries to comedy or Bollywood hits. It will run from April 20-25 at ArcLight Hollywood, showcasing 33 films from India, Canada, Australia, UK and the USA, including 4 world premieres and 7 US premieres. An additional program of 13 short films will accompany the feature film schedule.

The festival's inauguration Gala shall feature the Los Angeles premiere and directorial debut of Dilip Mehta, 'Cooking with Stella', a comedy starring Lisa Ray, Seema Biswas and Don McKellar on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at ArcLight Hollywood.

Bollywood screenings are also planned during the festival as part of ArcLight Hollywood’s “21+ screenings” soirées in which the audience may enjoy a movie while sipping a glass of wine or a decadent cocktail. The program features box office success '3 Idiots', 'Kaminey' starring Shahid Kapoor and the re-mastered 'Ashes to Ashes' ('Raakh'), directed by Aditya Bhattacharya, which introduced a dark and acclaimed performance by Hindi film superstar Aamir Khan. 

The festival's closing Gala shall feature an Australian production about adoption: 'The Waiting City', directed by Claire McCarthy and starring Radha Mitchell, Joel Edgerton and Samrat Chakrabarti. The event shall be held on Saturday, April 25, 2010, at ArcLight Hollywood, and shall have the director and part of the film's cast in attendance.

I can now blindly say that I am the very first to add Paarthshaala songs, because I am the first:)... I just could listen the first song 'Aye Khuda' and found it to be good.. I hope Paathshala has songs for kids, as we haven't had much of them in recent past.. BTW, music is composed by Hanif Sheikh. Paathshaala is a upcoming film featuring Shahid Kapoor, Ayesha Takia, and Nana Patekar and is directed by Milind Ukey. The film revolves around kids set in a school campus. KAMINEY

Kaminey, Vishal Bhardwaj’s newest venture, has left critics and audience expressing anything but indifference. This month, Pushker Awasthi, our Indian collaborator ever since Cinema Hindi’s inception, writes about his experience watching Kaminey on the silver screen. Thank you so much, Pushker for your contribution. Here is hoping we will have the pleasure of reading you more often.

Kaminey. After having been at loss of words I can simply express how much I loved it… It reflects a new type of cinema being made in India and, despite the fact that it does reflect Quentin Tarantino’s influence, its content is purely Indian as it presents a well executed Bollywood Masala. It is Vishal Bhardwaj’s first commercial movie and offers a brilliant direction, writing, acting, background score and photography to his audience.

With the release of Kaminey, Vishal Bhardwaj has proved to all that he is a cinema genius and that a good director will always be good, regardless of the kind of story that he wishes to unfold before his viewers. Vishal’s previous work consisted of serious films featuring realistic people and situations. He unhurriedly dissected and explored the darkness of the human mind and soul without ever succumbing to the temptation of becoming apologetic.

However, let us go back to Kaminey.

Kaminey might dissapoint some of Bhardwaj’s followers if they compare this film to the others he had directed so far. However, one must not forget that he has remained true to his essence with the slight difference of wholeheartedly embracing the Bollywood Masala genre. Kaminey is an all out masala film that strangely does not require the moviegoer to leave his brain at the theatre entrance, which is usually what the audience must do before it starts enjoying a regular Bollywood film. Vishal has definitely opened up a space for Quentin Tarantino in Indian cinema in the same way he saddled Shakespeare firmly into Indian soil. To his credit, he never copied him, as Sanjay Gupta did with Kaante based on Reservoir Of Dogs. No. He has made Tarantino’s influence his own.

It is fascinating to live every moment of the film and indulge in it. Kaminey breaks every rule as far Hindi Masala films are concerned and let me tell you how:

First of all, Masala cinema has a cardinal rule that says that if you have twin brothers, or even simply two brothers, one of them must be a good guy and the other must be a terribly bad guy. During the climax, the bad guy ends up paying for his sins and making a sacrifice. Kaminey displays another take on brotherhood. Guddu and Charlie are different. Neither of them is perfect, neither physically nor emotionally. Guddu is embarrassed about his stammering while Charlie has a pronunciation problem but never feels bad about it. Guddu is a good but weak man, almost ready to crawl under the circumstances but nevertheless having a gentle soul. Charlie has tasted life as it is and knows how to wriggle out of problems and never ever feels self conscious about lisping.

Another of Kaminey’s novelties is that it changes the type of language used by the story’s characters to communicate with each other. The Bengali Brothers, for whom Charlie works, communicate purely in Bengali without ever translating their conversation in Hindi or English. This is not customary in Hindi cinema, which tends to make the characters translate whatever is spoken in foreign or regional languages into Hindi, for the audience’s sake.

Moreover, Kaminey’s photography is extremely enthralling, making the audience jump! Even the background is so powerful that it sucks the spectator in with every single movie frame.

Last but not least, a special mention goes to the song 'Duniya Mein', in which Vishal gives tribute to legendary music director and genius, the late R D Burman. Never, at any point in time, is the audience left remembering that song pictured on Rajesh Khanna (in the film Apna Desh), as Bhardwaj greatly succeeds in attaching the same song to to the screen presence of the film’s main character, Shahid Kapoor.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I just don't have words to tell, how cool the latest Kaminey is. It's just inexpressible, you could have noticed that I never posted any movies in here, but Kaminey made me do it. I went to the multiplex wishing that what I hoped in the Kaminey Songs post, turns to be true. I just hoped it to be the greatest movie of 2009, but it turned out to be one of the best bollywood movies I ever saw.
Really I am thrilled, words are not coming easily, am physically writing this, but my mind is amongst so many characters and the brilliant Shahid Kapoor and the gorgeous Priyanka Chopra. It's just like flying in a wonderland. It's a new type of bollywood movie, having a tinge of Hollywood in it and I just loved it.

I would not give any spoilers in here. I would say, it might appear boring to some, some may not even understand the movie at the first go. You should pay absolute attention to each and every minute and enjoy the fantastic results. It's bold, stark, funny, unpredictable and a complete Roller Coaster Ride.

Even though I am giving the download links, I would highly recommend you to go to the theaters to watch it, as Kaminey really deserves it. We get very few movies this great, and I don't want you to spoil the whole show with prints that are available for download. Don't download Kaminey Movie, enjoy it at the big screen. But still it's up to you. Don't complain about the quality, as it's out of my control. There is nothing I can do about it, as DVD Rips will take atleast 2 months to be released. I would just add here the best print available on the net.

I hope you enjoy watching Kaminey, as much as I did. I am gonna be watching it again. It's mindblowing.. (Dhan Te Nan::)

Really I could not even imagine at the first sight that she is Rani Mukerjee;p, indeed I was even searching on for her. Dil Bole Hadippa is a film directed by Anurag Singh, and it's starring Rani Mukerji and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles along with Anupam Kher, Rakhi Sawant and gorgeous Sherlyn Chopra in the supporting roles.

So wearing a turban and a beard she becomes Veer Pratap Singh (reminds of Veer Zaara:) and gets an entry into Rohan’s (Shahid) team. I have set my expectations high from this movie, and hope that it keeps up to it when released on September 18.

Music of DBH is tuned by Pritam and it's Punjabi types. I liked the songs, especially the title track and 'Ishq Hi Rab Hai'. Hope that you enjoy listening them too.

Kismat Konnection Songs Download [MP3] [2008]

Kismat Konnection, released last year was rocking only in the music department and was directed by Aziz Mirza (director of Chalte Chalte). The film starred Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan in the lead roles along with Juhi Chawla in the suporting roles. It has it's music done by Sayeed Qadri, Shabbir Ahmed and Sajid-Wajid. And when the songs were released I loved Atif's 'Bakhuda Tumhi Ho' and Shreya's 'Is This Love', but don't know why subsequently lost interest. Anyways, many of you might still love them so enjoy:) The songs were requested by an anonymous visitor couple of days ago, I hope he finds a way to these.

PS: I don't understand why almost all the songs have two names:)

Kaminey Songs Download [MP3] [2009]

We are the first to download the songs of Kaminey:). Hope you enjoy it. Kaminey starring a new couple Shahid Kapoor and ever gorgeous Priyanka Chopra is an upcoming movie set to be released on August 14. It is directed and written by Vishal Bhardwaj, who has also done it's music with lyrics from Gulzar. The trailer released back in February appeared quite promising, hope it keeps up to our expectations. In one place I read that this movie has no usage of foul language, seemed astonishing, gotta watch out this movie to checkout why its named as such?? Hope you like the songs!

Update: It's a great time, I should say it's one of the best period of 2009, so many great songs have been released in past month, really am enjoying them a lot. When Love Aaj Kal released it rocked, and I truly did not expect that Kaminey is going to beat Twist, but hey Dhan Te Nan is phenomenal:). Hope the movies also rock and turn to be one of the greatest hits of 2009.
