Movie Review:

Movie "Andaz" is a funny family drama  with lots of excitement.Story starts with Rajoo (Rajesh Khanna) who lives a wealthy lifestyle alongwith his father (Ajit) in his palatial house. He has fallen in love with a young and beautiful woman named Sheetal (Hema Malini). Soon his father comes to know about their relationship but he does not accept this as he wants Rajoo to marry with his choice of girl. Rajoo also very well aware of his father’s opposition and then they both decide to marry in a simple temple ceremony. Soon his father comes to know about their marriage but he vehemently opposes this marriage and also refuses to accept Sheetal as his daughter-in-law. Soon Sheetal gets pregnant and expected to give birth to his child.

But misfortune strikes as Rajoo meets with an accident and passes away leaving behind his wife devastated. Later she gives birth to a baby boy and named him as Deepu (Master Alankar). After that she seeks a job so that she can meets their livelihood. She gets a job as a teacher and meets one of her student named Munni whoes father named Ravi (Shammi Kapoor) who is also a widower. After sometime both of them come close to each other and decide to marry. But it is not so easy as Ravi’s mother (Achla Sachdev) objects to this marriage. She also accuses Sheetal of being a woman of questionable means. Also a village belle named Mahuva (Aruna Irani) commits suicide and Ravi is blamed for this as she had a crush on him.Overall, the movie is good and entertaining.

That guest is non other than a wealthy businessman K.K (Kader Khan) who gets very pleased with Raja’s way of attending him and services. He lends him a suit and gives him some money, so that he could find a rich woman to woo and marry. Raja goes in search of that type of woman when he sees Sapna (Raveena Tandon) in a car and thinks that she is rich. He successfully woos her and wins her heart. But the fact is Sapna too is on the lookout for a rich prince charming as she is also a servant in a house.Businessman K.K has a daughter named Sona (Simran) who is an air hostess and loves Rahul Saxena (Govinda). She meets him to his father who misunderstands him as Raja and insults him. Here Sapna and Raja both gets to know the truth about each others and they concoct a plot to kidnap Rahul Saxena with the help of a garage owner named Sattarbhai (Satish Shah) while Raja takes his place. He meets Rahul’s step-mother Sharda (Aruna Irani) and his father Dhanraj Saxena (Satyendra Kapoor). The plan goes wrong when Raja is kidnapped in place of Rahul. Here Rahul somehow manages to escape from his kidnappers and meets Raja where he has been kept by the kidnappers and releases him. Then Raja fights the goons and makes everything safe.

Inspite of these things she is always ignored by his son as well as his daughter-in-law. She is shunned, belittled, and berated by Rekha. But she loves Sunita as she gets the desired respect only from her and she is the only bright spot in her life.There is another widowed character in the movie named Amrit Lal Sharma (Rajesh Khanna) who also lives in the neighbourhood in a Bungalow. He had a wife named Savitri (Zarina Wahab) who died after being run over by a truck. Similar to Kamla, he also has a son named Madan (Pradeep Saxena), his wife Poonam (Daljit Kaur) and their son named Rahul (Master Ashutosh). He is also belittled, humiliated and treated like a servant by Poonam and Madan only sees like a spectator. His only hope of his life is his grandson, Rahul. Amrit and Kamla often meet in the park at the evening when they come with their grandchildrens. They usually talk how they are being abused by their respective children.

He spends nights with them and has many affairs.One fine day, he comes across a beautiful girl Priya ( Sridevi ), who belongs to a Tamil family. He gets attracted towards her and both fell in love. Being from different family backgrounds they marry and lead a new wed life.But times are not the same, soon Priya comes to know about his bad habits. She suspects him that he is having an affair. Days passes and Priya goes to her parent's house for a picnic. Now Kiran is free and a bachelor again. He comes back to his doings and visits a bar. There he finds a bar dancer Lulu ( Aruna Irani ) and goes off with her. They both spend a night. But in morning Kiran finds that Lulu id dead. He is shocked. He tries to hide this truth and throws off Lulu's body in a river. He returns home and tries to lead a normal life. But police gets the dead body and they come to Kiran's house on proof that Lulu hired the last taxi to Kiran's House.Now that story gains more and more interest. 

Overall, movie is good and entertaining. Moreover it has a message and gives the lesson of being good and pure, away from the bad character. Movie was nominated for several awards and did well at Box Office.

The producer of the movie happens to be Sibte Hassan Rizvi who has done popular movies like Khandaan and Joshilay.Te leading characters of the movie are played by Shammi Kapoor, he has proven his acting skills with his successful career over the years. He debuted with Khoj in the year of 1953 and his career was an upswing afterwards. He has done movie like Chor Bazar, Tumsa Nahin Dekha and Ram Tere Kitne Naam. The leading lady of the movie is played by beautiful Padmini Kolhapure. She made her debut with Bhai Bahen in the year of 1969 and has acted in many hit films over the years. Among her successful ventures are Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Woh Saat Din and Swarg Se Sunder. All in all, movie is a one time watch. It is nice and was average at Box Office.

The movie stars Shailendra Singh and Rekha in lead roles. Other supporting star cast includes Utpal Dutt, G. Asrani, Aruna Irani, Sujit Kumar, Bindu, Nandita Thakur, Piloo J. Wadia, Sheetal, Dinesh Hingoo, A.A. Deepak, Viju Khote etc.

Movie Review:

This bollywood movie is casted is the genre of family drama.It starts with Mala Mathur (Rekha) who is an educated, traveled, intelligent and wealthy businesswomen and lives a wealthy and easy lifestyle with her uncle named Mr. Mathur (Utpal Dutt). She wants to marry a guy who can takes all the responsibilities of her household work while she is on the job. She does not want to be a house wife. Her uncle does not accepts her this idea of marriage and tells her that she will never find any husband in this manner. So she decides to advertises in the newspapers. On the return she gets a huge response and she has a lot of choices to make. His uncle also gets surprised when he sees the number of responses.Later she selects a man named Shekar Sinha (Shailendra Singh) and decides to marry with him. Shekhar Sinha is a poor unemployed and willing to commit himself to household duties. Mala asks Shekhar to sign an agreement according to which the agreement is terminable after one year. After that marriage goes on but it looks like that it is not really a marriage, but an employment contract. Shekhar does not know about the household works and also cooking. Now it is upto Shekhar, whether he is able to survive for one year or not.And thus its got an interesting turn. Movie is good and enjoyable.It was below average at Box Office.But its a better one time watch.

Music of the movie is given by Bappi Lahiri and is awesome. Songs are sung in beautiful voices of Lata Mangeshkar and Shailendra Singh.
